Allendale CI Release Paths
Allendale Correctional Institution is a medium-custody men's prison operated by the South Carolina Department of Corrections. SCDC controls legal custody and the release record. A person may complete the custodial term and return to the community. Another person may leave confinement for parole, probation, community supervision, or another category managed by the South Carolina Department of Probation, Parole and Pardon Services. Those are community phases, not always full sentence discharge.
Movement to another SCDC institution or a reentry or work-release center is not an actual release from state custody. A transfer to an outside authority can also continue custody. Preserve SCDC's exact release-type label. Research samples included `RELEASED`, `PROBATION`, and `COMMUNITY SUPV`. The last two labels show why leaving a prison building does not necessarily end all legal control.
| SCDC event | Meaning | Confirmation source |
|---|---|---|
| Institution transfer | State custody continues | Current SCDC detail |
| Released | SCDC recorded an exit | Released Inmate List |
| Probation | Community status follows | SCDC and SCDPPPS |
| Community supervision | Continuing sentence phase outside prison | SCDC and SCDPPPS |
Confirm Allendale CI Releases
The SCDC Incarcerated Inmate Search covers people presently sentenced to and incarcerated in SCDC. It is useful for current institution and projected information, but its disclaimer excludes people already released from SCDC. The data are current as of midnight the previous day. A future date is an estimate and cannot establish that someone has left.
For a past discharge, use the SCDC Released Inmate List. It begins with a release-date range rather than a name field. Select the beginning and ending dates, choose `ALLENDALE` or `ALL LOCATIONS` as needed, and optionally use the Sex Offender control. Results display ten at a time. Export supplies added fields. If only a name is known, use court, VINE, or supervision information to narrow the likely date window.
- Use the current SCDC search to determine whether the person remains incarcerated.
- Search the Released Inmate List across a supported date range.
- Match the SCDC ID, identity fields, release date, and release type.
- Open or export the result and preserve its retrieval date.
- Check SCDPPPS if the record shows a supervision phase.
Allendale CI Release Fields
The visible released-list results contain SCDC ID, name, sex, race, age, Sex Offender Ind, release date, release type, and county. Export adds SID, Victim, Detainer, and MSO. In sampled output, MSO held the most serious offense description. These fields help distinguish same-name records and identify whether another hold may affect the meaning of the exit.
The county field needs care. The released list is a statewide SCDC product. A person convicted in another county may have been physically released from Allendale CI. An Allendale County conviction may have been served at another state institution. Prison location, county of conviction, arresting agency, and supervision county are separate facts. Do not turn an `ALLENDALE` filter into a county-jail release list.
- Discharge
- An agency-recorded end to a custody or sentence phase, subject to the exact record.
- Projected date
- An estimate based on sentence computation and facts that can change.
- Parole
- Conditional release from confinement under supervision.
- Detainer
- Another authority's request tied to custody or notification, not proof of community release.
Allendale CI Discharge Records
Online SCDC data are informational. For stronger proof, use the SCDC public-records request channel and ask for the actual discharge record, sentence computation, movement history, or releasable photograph. Supply the SCDC number, full name, birth date for identity matching, and a narrow record or date range. A sentencing order from the court can explain the legal term, but SCDC owns the state-custody movement and computation.
Sentence calculation can change because of jail credit, concurrent or consecutive terms, earned credits, disciplinary forfeiture or restoration, court amendments, parole decisions, new legal process, and detainers. The SCDC Inmate Records Office is listed at 803-896-8531 for sentence-calculation questions. Headquarters is P.O. Box 21787, Columbia, SC 29210, and the general number is 803-896-8500.
If SCDPPPS lists the person after release, that record corroborates a community supervision phase. It does not give the prison gate-out time. Search its offender interface by supported combinations of name, SID, county, and birth year. The displayed data represent the prior day, and people no longer supervised may not appear.
Allendale CI Records Contact
The live SCDC institutions directory is the authority for current facility details because wardens, programs, and administrative contacts can change. Call the institution for facility routing, but use SCDC's records channel for production of a state discharge or movement record.

The institution is not an Allendale County Sheriff's Office facility. Questions about a county booking or bond release belong with the county detention center and court, even when the same person later enters SCDC.
Allendale CI Release Context
Angle L reflects a local source of recurring confusion. Allendale County contains both a county detention center and a state prison. SCDC reports that Allendale Correctional Institution opened in 1989 and houses men under medium custody. Its statewide released list cannot replace the sheriff's absent county recent-release feed, and the county detention phone cannot certify an SCDC discharge.
The SCDC institutions directory says the prison became the agency's first Character-Based Institution in 2015. It lists Jumpstart, addiction recovery, education, animal rescue and training, quilting, and beekeeping among programs. These facts describe the institution. Program participation does not predict a release date, prove discharge, or guarantee a service after release.
The official directory view shows how SCDC classifies and identifies the facility.

The image ties the institution to SCDC, reinforcing that statewide corrections records control its release information.
Allendale CI Release Notifications
South Carolina VINE can convey custody events, but it is not the formal SCDC release order. Search the correct SCDC record and verify identity before registering. A transfer can require a new registration with the receiving agency. If a release alert arrives, confirm the actual release type through the SCDC record and check supervision when that phase follows.
SCDC formal crime-victim notification is separate from an ordinary web selection. The Division of Victim Services says online formal registration is not currently available. Eligible users call 803-896-1733 or 1-800-835-0304, request and return the form, and wait for confirmation. This distinct process should not be collapsed into a basic VINELink registration.
The SCDC Victim Services page also describes projected release information.

The source separates an estimate and notification service from the agency's later record of actual discharge.
Who Owns Allendale CI Records
Angle T makes the record chain clear. SCDC owns imprisonment, movement, release type, and sentence computation. The sentencing court owns its filed judgment and later orders. SCDPPPS owns parole, probation, community supervision, and related community status. The county sheriff owns only a separate county-jail episode. Ask each custodian for the fact it created.
When sources appear to conflict, both may be accurate. SCDC may show release while SCDPPPS shows active supervision. A court case may stay open after a custody change. A photograph may persist after discharge. A receiving agency may index a transfer later than SCDC records the movement. Preserve the SCDC ID, dates, labels, and source retrieval time, then ask the responsible owner to explain the gap.
The Allendale County released inmates search compares county, state, federal, court, and supervision channels. For an Allendale CI release, however, the SCDC released record remains the central evidence.
